**there are spoilers for book 2 in this review**
I am finally done with my Millennium trilogy re-read. And I have to say, the whole thing holds up. I am again having a similar issue with book two, in that I finished it a couple of weeks ago and it seems to be rapidly slipping from my mind, but that’s okay. It gives me the chance to re-read it again and be surprised 10 years from now.
So let’s see. The third book in the trilogy picks up exactly where the second one left off. Lisbeth is superhuman has been shot in the head and buried alive and dug herself out and hit her father with an axe to the head and haunted her half-brother into running away and passed out in the kitchen, and Blomkvist has called emergency services. You know, typical…
This book is very much a ride. We’re dealing with the aftermath of book 2, and everything is still much up in the air. There is still a lot going on, with pacing that keeps you guessing and only once or twice the info dump got boring enough it took me out of the story. The story gets mostly neatly wrapped up, and besides the fact that the male author wish fulfillment factor is still on high (yes, Blomkvist must still sleep with any and all female characters introduced), it’s all-around an enjoyable read. We’re diving into conspiracy theory levels and it’s fun. 🙂
