Are You a Cat? No Coll Muir I am a person who is writing a review of your book Are You a Cat? I would like to ask, why did you write this book in the traditional picture book format? It would make a 
fantastic over sized or lap board book. Why did you decide to have your cat lie? It is neat that we get to see one fact about the animals: birds fly, rabbits hide in holes, butterflies sit on flowers without squishing them, squirrels open nuts, dogs chase cats and cats chase mice, but why did you end with the mouse and what it says?
There is a lot about Muir’s book that can be loved. It is simplistic but not in a negative way. There is little detail to bog down the story. You do not get fancy backdrops, just the dog, cat and the part of the story focused on. The drawings are basic, but easily distinguishable. You know that is a cat, dog, etc. This is meant for a very young crowd or for the adult who is interested in art.
Due mid-May 2020, Amazon says this is “Perfect for fans of Jon Klassen’s I Want My Hat Back, This Is Not My Hat, and We Found a Hat.” And this is what it reminds me of. That and a few others of this minimalistic format. It is charming. For some. And pleasing and hilarious. For some. This is not an “everyone” book. This is a lovely book that needs to find its forever home carefully.
