Weak collection of X-Babies stories. I want to care about this – I really do! It just always seems like nothing ever matters in these books. People die until they are needed and then miraculously survive/reincarnate/clone/whatever. People are evil until they have a change of heart and then go back to being evil. It’s all just so frustrating. Writer Bunn pushes his wooden characters around until the chapter ends and it’s all so angsty and unsurprising. Hank (Beast) finally learns the problem with his magic use and Phoenix analogue Maddie Pryor tries to take over the world via demons again. Magneto makes up with daughter Polaris. We get a new vampire Storm from another dimension, because one isn’t enough. The art is good but could be better. Nobody learns anything. Cyclops makes up with Marvel Girl, everybody makes a frowny face at Beast. Miss Sinister’s plot to release Mothervine hits a snag and Emma Frost flounces around like people don’t know that she is capable of controlling their minds. Marvel Girl breaks Emma’s hold on Xorn and, whelp, there it all goes.
