This is a cute little novella from a new to me author. At 72 pages, it can be read pretty much in one sitting. Our heroine with the unlikely name of Pinky Grover (she admits her name makes her sound like a Muppet) has had to give up her dreams of studying for her Masters in Anthropology and come back to small town Indiana to work in her parents Indian restaurant whilst her mother recovers from cancer. The book opens with her mother returned to health but Pinky trying to take online business classes and stagnating behind the bar in the restaurant.
Enter one hot, bad biker boy with the nickname of Trucker and heated glances and racing pulses ensue. Because the book is so short, things have to happen quickly and so I can forgive Ms. Snyder for throwing the characters together rather rapidly. Trucker has a secret, it’s a big secret and pretty much means that Trucker and Pinky can never see each other again. However they enjoy their time together and the sexy times are well written and steamy! Of course the big secret involving Trucker’s motorcycle gang splits the pair apart but never fear, this is not an angsty, heartbreak filled story! Overall it was a very satisfying ending and I could have a read a novel about this pair that was twice as long.
As a palate cleanser between weightier tomes or a light read without having to invest much time, I’d definitely recommend it. I’ll also check out some of Ms. Snyder’s other works as I know she’s written full length novels as well.
