Ethan Long Presents Fangsgiving is another Ethan Long gem with our favorite monsters. This time the monsters of the Fright Club are having Thanking at Vlad’s placed. However, when Vlad’s family comes to join them, he is excited to see them, but boy do things get out of hand! However, the Fright Club and Vlad’s family learn what it means to be a family, about cooperation, having a good time and leaving Spike, the dog, outside during dinner time.
Add this to your Fright Club collection. Or start a new tradition with celebrating holidays with the Fright Club. Valentines Day is very sweet with Valensteins. And Halloween ever so scary with Fright Club.

The artwork of Long is very much in his specific style. The goofiness makes light of the “scary” (after all they are very scary monsters! Sort of….) And it helps to just have fun with the story. Sure, there are elements that not every adult will be a fan of (there is a lot of high jinks going on) but the kid in all of us will get a kick out of the outrageousness that goes on. It also just might make you appreciate your own wonderful, loveable, tries too hard, less than traditional family.
The best part of this book is that it is not extremely traditional. Sure, there is the turkey (cooked to death) and the rolls (hard as a headstone) and lots and lots of garlic, but it is not your “Happy Holiday” story. There is a lot of scary treats cooked up and will be the perfect after dinner treat
