This is the end… cbr10bingo

I used the first book in this series as my “and so it begins”, and now I’m using this third and final book as my “this is the end” for CBR10bingo! Of course I read this series in the wrong order (two, one, three), but that’s just the usual for me!
So we get back to Joe Cantrell in this book, and he’s got another new job. He’s sheriff of a small town in Texas, and he’s got a new baby. Unfortunately his baby mama (Piper) has up and left with the baby. Joe’s a little bit on edge, but he still sheriff’s with the best of them. The central story in this book involves electricity grid terrorism. There’s a dude who’s taking out small sections of electric generation companies, and they ask Joe to help find him.
There’s also a side story of a woman (who turns out to be the terrorist’s sister) who accidentally murders a deputy and then goes on a bit of a drug fueled murdery rage. I liked how everyone was connected in this story in one way or another. There are some not so bad guys along the way, and the aforementioned really bad guy (terrorist), and how they all fit together.
Of course Joe tries to save the day and nearly gets killed, and eventually Piper comes back with their baby for a visit. She’s moving to Mexico though, and Joe needs to make a big choice about the rest of his life. I liked this book, and I’d give it 3.5 stars.
