Best friends Rachel and Kirsty love fall. They want to go apple picking and carve pumpkins and have a hayride. However, this year something is very wrong! It is hotter than summer and nothing is happening as it should! Plants are rotting or not growing at all. The trees are not losing their leaves, making it so there is nothing to rake up and the girls can jump in. When the girls meet Autumn, The Falling Leaves Fairy, they learn why. Jack Frost and the Goblins are up to their old tricks again. Can the girls save Autumn: The season and the fairy?
This special edition in the Rainbow Magic series is a standalone title, but it does
help to know a little background by reading a few other titles. Luckily for me, I have read a few. (But it was a long time ago!) This series (and almost any book under Daisy Meadows name) was a go-to recommendation for the girl who likes fairies but also needs a little modern spunk.
Aimed at ages high first grade to low third grade (ages 7 to 10) these longer books are created to combine a few stories into one larger volume. Over all this series is just a fun read. They have a message (such as you cannot skip fall to get to winter, there is an order to nature) but they are also stories about a couple of buddies out on an adventure. Maybe not destined to be a “classic” but these books will be a favorite of your reader.
