To the tune of “nobody but me”
No-no, no, no-no, no-no-no-no
No, no-no, no, no, no-no, no-no, no-no
No-no-no-no, no-no, no, no-no, no.
Nobody speaks like that.
Nobody acts like that.
Nobody cares what overly wealthy octogenarians do, but they almost certainly don’t throw around terms like “muff diver” with the frequency of a preteen who just learned what words get a reaction from the adults.
Nobody believes the thinly veiled archetypes aren’t just people Dunne knows and things that actually happened, but no one cares enough to figure out who they might actually be, or if they do, I don’t care to know.
No.
Just no.
I got this for free from an airport book exchange because I wanted something light for a flight; this actually sheared off some brain cells. I paid too much and it cost nothing. I’d submit quotes but I left this on a beach rather than subject anyone not trying to learn a new language to its idiocy, and was secretly relieved when it rained shortly afterward. It wasn’t even fun. Anyone berating millennials for worshipping the Kardashians should be made to read this as punishment.
The allusion to roger ebert in my review title is better than this deserves.
This book.
I wish I could rate it negative stars.
