Star Wars always fascinated me as a child and I always knew about the expanded universe. Having read the Thrawn Trilogy last year, it was natural that I’d start reading the X-Wing series, specially since those are deeply interconnected. The book shows the formation of the new Rogue Squadron, an elite 12 starship pilot group that has the hardest mission of the Rebel Alliance. Formed by the surviving members of the last Rogue Group that helped destroy the second Death Star and commanded by Wedge Antilles, veteran, war hero. On the other side, the Empire is trying to reestabilish itself with a new leader and doing some strong power demonstrations, which make the rebels, now the Republic, try and do the same.

We have some very good character developments and even though is just the first out of 10, the ending leaves a feeling of Game of Thrones in the air since the basic rogue pilot only survive for 5 missions, so, don’t get too atached to some characters.
