Scarlett Epstein is about a smart, sarcastic girl whose social life is mostly writing fanfics for the TV show Lycanthrope High. When the show is cancelled, her group of fans has to find a new subject. Scarlett decides to write new fics based on kids at her school, namely her feelings about her childhood friend Gideon who seems to be turning into a popular jerk. I really liked Scarlett and her snarkiness and she’s easy to relate to, though sometimes frustrating. It’s a really fun book, though it does deal with heavier stuff than I’ve mentioned in my summary.
