So I finally finished this book last night. I actually quit halfway through, & this Cannonball is the only reason I picked it back up again to finish! I wanted to get credit for all of the reading I did ?
Anyway, that’s not a good sign, right? I really liked this book at the beginning. It had an interesting premise, & the potential for an apocalypse, which is usually my jam. It started out really cool. There were a few different characters, an they were all noticing weird things happening. All of a sudden, one of Jupiter’s moons was gone. Then, two mysterious “bogeys” were found in two different places. One of them was a big rock hill that appeared in Death Valley. The guys that found it were held in quarantine by the government while they tried to figure out what the eff was happening. The other “bogey” was found in Australia (I think), and three alien-like things came out of it. Also, something weird is going on in the ocean.
A bunch of guys got together and try to figure out what the eff is going on. They form a committee, include the president, and get the smartest scientists. Eventually they figure out that there are “planet eaters” (bad aliens) that are going to basically blow up Earth. The president freaks out, people get possessed, and weird stuff keeps happening. The story just kind of lost me at some point. It all sounds like it’d be interesting, but I’m not really sure why I wasn’t that interested. There is a book 2, and if it’s free, I might read it. If I have to pay any more than a dollar for the ebook though, I’m probably done!
