Gale Force Reading Glasses, in the world of Fairy Tail, allow the reader to read two to thirty-two times faster, depending the on the quality of the book. Which, I think we can all agree, would be a godsend to all the cannonballers out there.
This issue picks up in the middle of Natsu and Lucy’s first real guild mission. They’ve been sent in to infiltrate an arrogant millionaire’s household and steal back a book. Only Lucy doesn’t appear to be his type. So they do things the easier way – break in and get to stealing. Honestly, none of this matters. What matters is that about halfway through the volume, after this book business gets resolved, the greatest character ever shows up – Erza Scarlet! As much as I love Batgirl, if ever given the choice, I might choose to be Erza instead. (It may have to do with her pocket dimension where she keeps her wardrobe of kick ass armor and weapons.)
Erza is aptly titled Tatiana – Queen of the Fairies, as she is the resident bad ass at Fairy Tail guild. Arguably the best wizard in the guild, save the guild master, Erza even manages to keep Natsu in line. Also, pocket dimension for outfits and weaponry. (I can’t stress this enough.) Erza grabs Natsu and Grey (he was introduced in the first volume, but only in passing. Quick Grey expose: he does ice magic and for some reason, randomly will strip off his clothes. At least Fairy Tail has equal opportunity nudity.) Lucy kind of invites herself along. I’ll be honest, Lucy in the earlier books isn’t the best. She gets better, I promise! Even with her temporary suckage, there’s still Erza. In Erza we trust.
