A high school girl goes missing, and the whole town is looking for her. A social worker named Dan, who works with troubled teens is “Caught” on a television show that exposes internet predators. It’s just like “To Catch a Predator”, but somehow a little less respected. The host of the show immediately becomes a main character as well.
There are a lot of twists and turns that will keep you guessing throughout the whole book. You’ll go back and forth so many times wondering if Dan actually is a predator, or just a guy caught up in a frame job. There’s backstory involving Dan’s college roommates, which only further confuses you! The whole time I was reading this book, I wavered between thinking Dan was a bad guy, to trying to figure out who the real bad guy was.
It’s really hard to get into the plot more than this, because it’s so much fun (well, fun might not be the right word – interesting / scary / nerve-wracking) to figure it all out yourself. It’s one of those nightmarish situations, where the people you’re counting on to be there for your kids might really be a bad guy.
I’m pretty sure I got this book at the dollar store with my Gram. I wasn’t expecting much, since it was only a dollar. I was pleasantly surprised. It was totally worth a dollar, and even more! I’d recommend it to anyone who likes crime novels, or just suspenseful reads, because this was definitely suspenseful.
