Picked this one up on a whim – disclosure – this review refers to the Audible version. Rip-roaring fun. Tales from the Bureau of Supernatural Investigations (BSI) . The guys that keep you from the things that go bump in the night. Our hero – “Kal Hakala” – is a Finn-American who is the lead of a team of BSI Agents. The “macguffin” of the tale is a murderer called “the organ donor” who kills people in a manner similar to butchering hogs and ripping out their organs. Yuck. But why and for what purpose and since this is all tied to the supernatural, we can be very sure that the purpose is not a good one. The story advances the plot and the background by providing flashbacks both to Kal’s childhood (which has a very key plot point) as well as back to previous missions (also with key pieces of data) . The characters are likeable, the plot holds together well and it’s unique, and clever and smart. I am definitely looking for the next one in the series.
