Full disclosure – I listened to the Audible version of this book whilst painting my daughter’s bedroom. It was a good light read for that sort of thing.
(I did claim that my last book review would be the last one about zombies – and it was. While this book does have zombies, they are side characters and it’s not creepy…)
Cute book – as cute as the cover. Spunky out of work magazine writer Zoe Norris (oops …she had an affair with her boss who was married…to a cop with anger issues) flees the South and moves to the Big Apple to change her life and start over. She is getting a bit desperate for a job when stumbles into the secret world of the “Coterie” – the hidden world of “non humans” who live amongst us; werewolves, vampires, succubi, incubi, demons, zombies etc. The Coterie needs a travel writer – she needs a job. But she’s human. Can she deal with them? More importantly, are they willing to deal with her?
Cute, fast paced, dangerous with a bit of romance tossed in. A lively little Urban Fantasy . I have downloaded the next one – “The Shambling Guide to New Orleans”. Looking forward to that.
